Through our consultation and training services, the Institute will custom design training seminars to meet the needs of your organization. Family Therapy Training
The Institute offers an intensive 3-year Certificate Training Program in Family Therapy using family systems theory and practice. Each level builds on the next and includes didactic course work and small group supervision on a weekly basis. Training focuses on understanding family systems from a multigenerational perspective. The Family Institute's approach to family therapy training addresses issues of race, gender, class and culture. The training program also offers course work in Supervision of Family Therapy Supervision.
Ongoing & Special Seminars
Special seminars are offered throughout the year for mental health professionals. These advanced seminars include: Advanced Case Consultation, Therapist's Own Family, Women & Systems, Feminist Application in Cultural Perspective, Impact of Addictions in the Therapist's Own Family, and Therapy with Families with Troubled Adolescents. In addition, the Institute offers group or individual supervision for psychology and social work licensure. Mini-seminars and conferences are also held throughout the year.
Long Distance Training
The Institute offers long-distance training for therapists from around the United States who are interested in in-depth training on:
